Obituary of Robert Lee Keyton
Robert (Robbie) Lee Keyton, 68, of Charlottesville went home to be with his Lord on January 13, 2022. Robbie was born October 16, 1953, in Charlottesville, to the late Josephine Mae Keyton Farrish. He is preceded in death by his grandparents David and Minnie Keyton, his mother, Josephine, and grand-daughter Mikala Brooke Keyton. He leaves behind a loving daughter, Jennifer Callie Keyton Ranney, of Fluvanna County and a son Jason Thomas Keyton, of Roanoke. He also leaves behind two grandsons, Caleb Adams of Greene County and Ryan Birckhead of Fluvanna County; four brothers, Mike Farrish, and his wife Kay of Scottsville; Tony Farrish and his wife Donna of Charlottesville; Greg Farrish and his wife Tammy of Charlottesville; and Jeff Farrish of Charlottesville; a sister Sandra Shaver and her husband Thomas Shaver of Louisa. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and three longtime friends Randy Proffitt, Rodney Bryant, and Edward Willis. Robbie had an unmeasurable love for his children, grandchildren, and family and friends. Robbie was employed for over 40 years as a propane truck driver with various local companies. Prior to that, he worked as a mechanic at the Department of Forestry and a gas station attendant when he was not helping friends with their projects. He was well known by many for racing cars and motorcycles in the area in his younger years. Robbie was an avid outdoorsman and collector of many different things. He loved being in the woods hunting, target shooting, or fishing locally, at the Outer Banks, or in Key West, Florida. When he was not doing any of these, it was not unusual for Robbie to head to a fishing or outdoorsman show to enjoy the company of friends, making new ones, and to tell the latest jokes he produced. He leaves behind his wisdom imprinted in our lives from learning how to change oil, tires, brakes, shoot a gun or bow, tying knots in fishing lines and lures to name a few. There was not much that Robbie would not have done for someone, whether he knew them or not. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the NRA Hunters for the Hungry at www.hfth.nra.org , to the NRA www.nra.org , or your local food pantry. The family would like to invite extended family and friends to visitation night to be held on Wednesday, January 19th at Teague Funeral Home, located at 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held by the immediate family later.
