Stanley Joseph Brezinski

Born on April 11, 1920 in Forest City, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Joseph and Antonina Karpinski Brzezinski. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Stella Haggard Brezinski, a son Lloyd Joseph (Joey), and his four siblings, John, Jean, Ed and Tony.

Mr. Brezinski is survived by his children: Patricia Metcalf of Christiansburg, Gregory Brezinski of Hampton, Kenneth (Buzz) Brezinski and his wife Pamela of Lexington Park, MD, Deborah Dahill and her husband William (Red) of Stanardsville, Rebecca Chamberlin and her husband Winston (Bud) of Palmyra, Jessica Downing and her husband Perry of Roanoke, Melissa Vlasis and her husband Michael of Louisa, and Eileen Faggert and her husband Steve of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends that cared for him deeply.

Mr. Brezinski’s greatest achievements were his union with his wife Juanita of 60 years and the pride he felt for his family. He retired from Sperry Marine after more than 35 years of service with the company. He also received his Bachelor of Science Commerce from the University of Virginia in 1985 at the age of 65.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, therapists, nurses, and staff at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Golden Living Center, and Hospice of the Piedmont for their attentive care of our father during his two-month fight to recover from a surgery. We also wish to thank Our Lady of Peace, whose wonderful staff and nurses of assisted living made him feel at home.

Military Honors will be provided by Charlottesville- Albemarle American Legion Post 74.
