Stephen Alex Spencer

Stephen Alex Spencer, age 47, of Charlottesville passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Born on August 2, 1967 he was a son of Ronald Spencer. He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Ann Thacker Spencer and his brother David Todd Spencer. In addition to his father Steve is survived by his loving wife of seven years, Gwendolyn Ball Spencer; his brothers, Christopher Allen Spencer and Zac Whetzel; his grandmother, Maggie L. Mays; his uncles, Mark Thacker and Buddy Thacker, Donald L., Larry, and Montie Spencer; and his aunts, Peggy Graves, Patsy Spencer, Rachel Spencer Stagman and Jean Johnson. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Steve worked for Reids Supermarket, Kroger for over 20 years, and Harris Teeter in Crozet. He was also a volunteer for Charlottesville Fire Department. Steve enjoyed bowling with his bowling league and loved baseball. Steve enjoyed and loved his family. He loved the tractor pulls, fishing adventures, and country music. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, June 19, 2015 at Alberene Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Teague Funeral Home.
