Robert (Bob) C. Heitz, 79, of Loami, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on September 13, 1945, in San Francisco, California, to Robert (Bob) W. and Ellen J. Heitz.
Bob married Kathleen J. Coleman on November 13, 1976. He owned and operated Bob’s Market in Loami, Loop Market in downtown Springfield, and Universal Heating and Air Conditioning in Jacksonville. He was an avid hunter and especially loved hunting out west.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy and their three children, Dr. Bridget (Joey) Burshears, Brooke (Josh) Boyer, and Michael Heitz (Jessica Sappington); his grandchildren, Maddie, Emma, and Ellie Burshears and Will, Brynn, and Molly Boyer; a brother, Kenny (Angie) Heitz; and several nieces and nephews.
Per Bob’s wishes, private family services were held.
