

Born in Hartford CT in 1936, he was the oldest son of the late Clayton S. Parsons and Ruth (Hollick) Parsons. He graduated from Berkshire Academy and earned his bachelor degree from Colgate University. Following a six-month tour in the Army Reserves, he joined his father working in the industrial diamond business after which he opened his own businesses, Parsons Diamond Enterprises, American Sawing & Drilling, and PMAC Inc.
A devoted husband and father, Jack was also the Treasurer of the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House for many years. He was an astute businessman and a counselor to many people. In his earlier years, Jack was an avid participant of many soccer, squash and golf games.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Mary (Sheperdson) Parsons, his four children, Clayton S. Parsons III, John David Parsons, Bradford Parsons, and Wendy Bontempo, his brother David Parsons and sister Judy Parsons as well as his grandchildren, Clay, Collin, Cooper, Claire, Ryan and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm, October 18, 2013 at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 819 Main St., Chatham, MA, and a reception will follow at the Creative Arts Center at 154 Crowell Road, Chatham, MA.
