Elisabeth "Betty" A. Curry

Elisabeth (Running) Curry, 91, died Thursday, May 22 surrounded by close family. She was the wife of the late Roy Curry, and daughter of the late Marie and Peter Running along with her sister Lynn Zipp and brothers James and Peter Running. Formerly of North Tonawanda, NY; Pace, Florida; and Brewster, MA.

Elisabeth “Betty” was a nurse at Degraff Memorial Hospital and a caretaker of many. She was a lovely wife, mother, sister and daughter. At the Woodlands Assisted Living and Pleasant Bay Nursing Home in Brewster, she was always looking for ways she could help others and made friends with all. She was one of the original circuit telephone operators! She got to live all over the country as a young woman because of her father’s occupation. Betty had many friends, loved to visit, and was loved by all. She especially loved flowers, babies, and dogs.

Betty is survived by her three children: Susan Leiterman and her husband Carl of Pace, FL and their two children Megan Ann Jordan and Clinton Peacock, and great-grandson Silas Jordan; James Graffenberg and his wife Linda of Boiling Brook Maryland; and Marie Ligenza and her husband Theodore of Chatham, MA and their three sons Michael, William, and John Ligenza.

Funeral will private. In lieu of flowers, as Betty would say, go out, visit your friends, enjoy your life, and smell the roses.
