

Chatham-Long time Chatham resident Frederic E Weise died peacefully at his home with his daughters by his side, on July 19Th 2011. He was 91 years old.
Fred was born in Patterson N.J. the son of the late Emil & Viola Weise. Fred was the youngest of three children. He came to Chatham in the 30's and in 1943 married a Chatham girl Charlotte P. Tuttle.
He Was a WWII veteran. A member of the "Old Breed" USMC Gunnery Sergeant in the 1st Marine Division. He received the Purple Heart for his service at Guadalcanal, and many other medals and commendations. He served in three conflicts and was a 20 year veteran. He was an accomplished bugler.
Mr. Weise an electrical engineer with a passion for all electrical things. He owned and operated an electrical business in Hyannis.
Once a Nascar racer in the 50's and helped to incorporate the seatbelts in the race cars by removing old seats from damaged fighter planes.
He loved fishing, playing cards(“and the right jack”) and caring for his many cats that he and his late lady friend Joan Froehle enjoyed.
He is survived by three children Frederic L Weise, Sandra L Weise-Peck and Janice A Weise-O'Gara and their husbands, Six Grandchildren,Nicole Weise, Michelle Weise, Freddie Weise, Morgan Peck, Patrick Semeta, and Meissa Hammerquist, Along with 5 great grand children.
Memorial Visitation will held at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham, MA, on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. Burial arrangements will be at the Bourne National Cemetery on Friday, August 5, at 2:30PM.
