Georges was born in Boston, graduated from Northeastern University and then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. In 1958, Georges began working at Grover Cronin in Waltham as a buyer and then as Operations Manager. It was at Grover Cronin that Georges met the love of his life, Janet. They married in 1959 and raised five children in Wellesley and Sudbury. They retired to their home in Chatham in 1997 and moved to Harwich in 2014.
Georges loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, children and their extended families. His children learned from their Papa that a love of family, and a strong moral compass and work ethic would stand them in good stead. Reading, sports, talk shows and family dinners were particular favorites of Georges. Georges suffered a heart attack on December 2nd and spent his last days at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, a hospice center, where he received compassionate care and comfort.
A private service will be held at the Nickerson Funeral Home in Chatham, followed by internment at Peoples Cemetery in Chatham. In lieu of flowers, donations in Georges’ memory may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org , the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org and the McCarthy Care Center at 73 Service Road, E.
