

Born in Mt. Vernon, New York, she was the daughter of the late Gerard and Margaret (Martin) Mc Williams and the wife of David Wortham of Marlborough, to whom she had been married since 1972.
Following her graduation from Lehman College, NY, where she earned a BS Degree in Biology, Kathleen began her career in research at Sloan-Kettering Hospital, NY. She had been employed at several research laboratories, including Harvard University prior to her current position at Dicerna Pharmaceuticals in Watertown where she managed the oncology research team. She was proficient at all her endeavors and loved anything and everything Irish. She spoke Gaelic, danced, played her guitar, created jewelry and stained glass. She was also a published author, noted in her field for her numerous publications on research themes.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Patrick Wortham of Marlborough, her daughter, Erinne Wortham of Waltham and her sister, Pauline Pluhar and her husband Jerry of W. Milford, NJ.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 2, from 3-5 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 3, at 1:00 pm at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Ave, Valhalla, NY. Donations may be made to Buddy Dog, 151 Boston Post Rd.,Sudbury, MA 01776
