Linda A. Lewis, died on August 3, 2019 following health challenges of the past few years. She passed while being celebrated and loved by her daughter, Sheri, her wife, Barbara Barrett, Cousin-Donna(Clark) Lincoln, and dear friends Sarah Gallivan and Karen Barker.
Linda was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on May 11, 1940, daughter of Evelyn (Norwood) Murphy, and Edward Murphy. A resident of Buffalo, New York at an early age, she helped raise her brother, Edward Murphy of Arlington, Virginia, and Kathy (Murphy) Kinch of Melbourne, Florida.
Linda met and married the love of her life, Richard L. Lewis, at a Halloween party and were married for 56 years. They had five children: Richard Lewis, Richard “Ricky” L. Lewis, Susan Lewis, Sheri Lewis, and Michael C. Lewis. She also leaves behind three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Linda was predeceased by her husband, Richard and both of her oldest children, Richard and Richard L.
Linda will best be remembered for her adventurous spirit including competitiveness playing Scrabble, love of learning and travel. Her fondest memories growing up were her summers spent in Quincy with her maternal grandparents Ralph and Charlotte Norwood.
Her family would like to acknowledge the kindness and love bestowed upon her while in the care of Broadreach Healthcare and Hospice professionals where she resided over the past three years.
There will be a short burial service at the Bourne National Cemetery on October 3rd, 2019 at 11:15a.m.
