

She was the wife of 60 years of the late Dale Gibson and they resided in South Chatham, Massachusetts for 20 years prior to his death.
Martha was born in Rochester, New York and the daughter of Gertrude (Frey) and Raymond Brown. She graduated from Hood College and Johns Hopkins University with a Masters degree returning to Rochester to practice as a dietitian
.
She was employed by Rochester General Hospital. In Rochester, she was an active member of the Irondequoit Congregational Church, the Hospital’s women’s auxiliary, theTWIG, and other community organizations and the American Dietetic Association.
Martha acquired a fondness for Cape Cod as a child where her family/she enjoyed summer vacations which led to the decision to build a house and retire to South Chatham in 1987.
She is survived by her children, Peter and wife Maureen Gibson of Washington, D.C., Susan and her husband Ronald Johnson of Doylestown, PA, David and his wife Donna Gibson of East Lyme Ct, Carolyn and her husband Arnie Cary of Cheshire, Ct.; grandchildren Emily Smith, Andrew, Scott and Kacey Johnson, Christopher, Colin and Patrick Gibson; great grandchildren William and Wyatt Smith.

A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2012 at 2:30 at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 533 Rt 28, Harwichport, MA.
