Mary Nickerson

Visitation will be held at Nickerson Funeral Home in Chatham on Thursday June 6 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will follow on June 7th in a private ceremony.

Mary was born to Alfred and Adele Francis on June 7, 1947 on Martha’s Vineyard. Mary graduated from Martha’s Vineyard High School. She was married to Donald F. Nickerson (deceased) for 29 years. They together built a successful business and family.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Adele Francis, sister Barbara Silvia and husband Donald F. Nickerson. She is survived by her son David Morrice, (Lana), Step children Karen Cabral of Marstons Mills, Chris Nickerson, (Mary) of Harwich, and Jennifer Leger on Marstons Mills. Sister Jean Laramee of E. Bridgewater, Brothers Everette, (Carol) of Edgartown, and Alfred (Mardel) of Vineyard Haven. Grandchildren Jason Morrice, Katie Morrice, Ben Morrice, Timothy Cabral (Oxana), Karla Cabral, Jake Nickerson, Olivia Leger, and Jack Leger.

Mary was a generous loving person who enjoyed reading, knitting, bowling and especially cooking.
