Mrs. Alieene Poe Roach, 87, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Alieene was a native of Chattanooga, born on September 4, 1932. She was a seamstress and an avid reader. She loved to make some laugh or smile. Alieene was a Christian and was a member of Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman M. Poe Sr. and Jewell L. Howard Poe; 2 brothers, Herman Poe Jr. and James Grant Poe; her son, Melvin C. Roach Jr.; 1 grandchild and 1 geat grandchild.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Melvin C. Roach Sr.; 2 sons, Anthony S. Roach and Richard L. Roach; daughter, Rebecca Alieene Lewallen; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and dear friends for 50years, James and Sue Smith.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 21St from 12:30 -1:30 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Brainerd Chapel followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
