

James Robert “Bob” Kendall, went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2013, at his residence after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan to Robert Franklin and Ruby Mae Bussell Franklin. His father died when he was three months old and his mother returned to Cookeville, Tennessee. The lived there for several years until she married Roy Kendall and moved to Chattanooga.
Bob attended Central High and University of Chattanooga, and served in the Army reserve for many years. He was employed by the post office and by railway mail for many years, and by Procter & Gamble for 27 years.
Bob enjoyed time with his family, friends, and dogs. He was a president of the Big Orange Club and enjoyed following UT Volunteers for many years. He loved travel, golf and playing tennis.
He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and the Gardner Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Ruby Kendall.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ada Felicia LLoret Kendall; three daughters, Lisa Kay Lupo, Lori Anne Kendall, and Kelley Louise (Kelly) Tate; three grandchildren, Jason Sean Rice, Britney Kendall Rice, and Kendall George Tate; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Rev. David King officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Community Kitchen, Baptist Children’s Home, McKamey Animal Shelter, or the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
