

Bobby R. Lamb, of Chattanooga, TN and a beloved and honorable individual, passed away from complications of lung cancer on January 10, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on September 19, 1945, in Gainesville, Georgia, Bobby grew up in Fort Oglethorpe. He graduated from high school in the class of 1963 at LFO.
Bobby was a Navy veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. His dedication and bravery earned him a Vietnam Medal, two Bronze Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Air Medal First S/F Award. After his military service, Bobby continued to exemplify the traits of being hard-working and honest throughout his life.
He is survived by his spouse, Marcia Lamb, his daughters, Stacy (Steve) Moyer and Laura (Jeff) Covington, and his son, Derrick (Carrie) Lamb. Bobby, affectionately known as Pappaw, leaves behind his grandchildren, Sara, Cheyenne, Chandler, Stephanie, Riley, and Evan, as well as his great-grandchildren, Caroline, Mia, and Lucas. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda (Les) Mullins, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Grace Lamb, his brother, Jerry Lamb, and his sister, Patsy Simpson.
Bobby was a humorous and faithful man, an avid TN Vols fan who loved taking care of his dog, Rosie. He was deeply involved in the lives of his grandchildren and cherished every moment with them.
For nearly 60 years, Bobby was a dedicated member of Ridgedale Baptist Church. He was also part of the American Legion Post 14 and involved with the local veteran's community in the area.
Bobby Lamb's legacy of humor, bravery to God, family and country will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, January 15, 2026 in the chapel with Pastor Doug Plumlee officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
