David L. Murray

David Lynn Murray, 46, of Chattanooga, recently went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bill and Roselle Wallace and Clyde and Hazel Murray. He is survived by his mother, Tiny Wallace Steele; his step-father, Calvin Steele; his father, Bobby Murray; his sister, Cyndi Murray Brown; honorary brother, Dennis Bauer; step-brother, Calvin Steele, Jr.; step-sister, Lysa Steele Voight (Tony) of Elk Grove, California; his niece, Amanda Brown Kee (Eric); nephew, Trey Brown; great-nephew, Braiden Brown; great-niece, Harper Kee; and other aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

He was originally from Cleveland, Tennessee and was a 1983 graduate of Bradley High School. He attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and was a self-made businessman and real estate entrepreneur. David's boundless generosity and kind spirit touched the lives of all he met in his much too short 46 years. He had a heart of gold and was forever giving help and shelter to any, whether a person down on their luck or an animal in need of rescue. The tragedy of losing David will be felt for years to come by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
