Eric Young

Eric Lionelle Yong (Zee) was born on November 7, 1967 in Chattanooga, TN to Chan Afi, Charles Jackson Sr., and Robert Bailey Sr. Surrounded by loved ones of family and friends, he went home to by with his Heavenly Father on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Eric was educated in the Chattanooga Public School system and earned his diploma from Brainerd High School class of 1986. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Eric was a protective, kind, and giving person. He loved singing, drawing, cooking, and most of all his family. Eric was a caring and loving father, grandfather, and the best of best brothers. He will be greatly missed and loved by everyone who loved and knew him.

Eric is preceded in death by his grandparents, Delia M. and Arnold J. Young and Minnie L. and Albert Solomon; son, Eric Lionelle Young Jr.; and sisters Angel Young and A’gel Young.

Eric’s memory will be forever cherished by his mother, Chan Afi; father, Charles Jackson Sr. and Robert Bailey Sr.; children, Tanyell Bell, Erica Young, Eric Bell, Trayvon Young, and Coreyontae Phinizey; a host of grandchildren; brothers, Reginald (Serenity) Young, Charles Jackson Jr., Domminique (Magan) Jackson, Andrain (Susie) Jackson, Hayland (Sandra) Jackson, Mallarie (LaFrizz) Jackson, and Robert Bailey Jr.; aunts, Sylvia Davis, Loretta Armstrong, Veronica (Napoleon) Dunson, Reba (Craig) Wardlaw, and Camile McReynolds; uncles, David E. Young, Calvin L. (Debra) Young, Thomas B. (Brenda) Young, Roderick L. (April) Young, Troy Solomon, Lebron Solomon, and James Jackson; special, devoted cousins, Kevin McClendon and Faith Alexander; special, devoted uncle/daddy, Roderick Young; special friend, Shannon Fairbanks; loving family friend, Nicole Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
