George W. Hughes

Mr. George W. Hughes, aged 84, passed away in a Lenoir City, TN hospital on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Mr. Hughes served as a State Overseer, a Council Member and was a well-known and respected Pastor throughout The Church of God of the Union Assembly, Inc. and The Church of God The Gospel Assembly.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents, Winston and Flora Ethel Hughes; son, George Olen Pratt Hughes; daughter, April ‘Little Peaceful’ Hughes; grandchildren, Lindsey Dawn Powell and her infant child, Georgia Ann Powell, Allyson Charity Lester, Da’Jacey Edwards and Matthews Jordan Hughes.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his precious memories and to carry on his legacy are his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Mrs. Patricia Hughes; children, Paul Eugene (Angelia) Hughes, Donna Kay (Jesse) Edwards, Margo (Michael) Alford, Rita (Mark) Lester, Rodney (Angie) Hughes, Anthony (Charlene) Hughes, Margaret Sabrina Rena (Bruce) Robinson and Jesse Winston (Tina) Hughes; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues, church family and dear friends.

A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Church of God of The Union Assembly, Inc., 2211 South Dixie Hwy. Dalton, GA, 30720.

Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm at The Church of God of The Union

Assembly, Inc., Dalton, GA. with Minister Jesse W. Hughes and Jaron Faulkner officiating.

Mr. Hughes will be laid to rest immediately following the service at West Hills Cemetery, West Emery Street, Dalton, GA.
