Jasmine was full of life, loved life, and quite the firecracker. She was persistent, quirky, strong-willed, compassionate, determined and fought a long battle to stay just a little longer here on earth. Why? For her son, Isaac. He was her hope and guiding light, her purpose in life. Unfortunately God needed her now to fly her Angel wings.
Jasmine is leaving behind her beautiful baby boy, Isaac Edward Nixon (Boogie) and his father Levi Nixon, father and mother, Brad Grisham and Julie Grisham, her biological father James Lee Hodge and step-mother Christina Hodge, paternal grandfather, Ralph Grisham and paternal grandmother, Kathy Mullins, maternal grandfather Gary Edward Randall, maternal grandmother Jenneth Farmer Randall, biological paternal grandmother Kim Blaylock, favorite brother Wyatt Edward Grisham, sisters Jamie Hodge, Hailey Hodge, Emilee Hodge, Cheyley Matthews; step-sisters Aiyana Lamb, Cheyenne Lamb, Amara Ford; many great uncles and aunts, second cousins and third cousins; best friends Allie Cappellazzo, Chloe Wilson and Logan Tanner; other close friends Jada, Alexis, Layla, Courtney, Lexi, Isabelle, and many others. Special love to her second mom Kelly Carroll, who helped her so much.
Jasmine attended Ridgedale Baptist Church and had many wonderful summers at Camp Ridgedale. In recent months Jasmine gave her life to the Lord and began reading her Bible every day, praying, and doing devotions. She loved taking Isaac to church as he enjoys the music so much. Not so much the preaching as he wants to talk during that time so must be taken out.
She attended Lakeview Middle and High School and graduated from Penn Foster High School at age 16, right before baby Isaac was born.
Jasmine had many struggles but in the end she was doing so good. What a shock to lose our sweet Angel but we know and are confident she is in the arms of Jesus and at peace. Visitation is Wednesday, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with the Memorial service to be held Thursday, February 10, at 3:00 pm at Franklin Strickland Funeral Home, McCallie Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church or Volunteers in Medicine, Chattanooga, Inc.
