

Johnny was born March, 24, 1962. He was a grandmother's baby and was named after her and one of her friends, she called him hot and called her mama Johnnie. When he was four years old he disappeared out of the yard, me, the neighbors and the police found him at mama Johnnie's house. As a child, he would take things apart and put them back together. He could fix everything in the house. He was nine years old working and selling drinks at Engel Stadium. At the age of fifteen, he worked for a mechanic repairing motors and transmissions on cars.He had a gift for fixing things, he could draw, write music, play the trumpet, guitar and drums.
Johnny attended Clara Carpenter, East Fifth Street School, Seven Day Adventist Academy, Hardy, and Brainerd High School. He played in Hardy and Brainerd School Bands, he received six awards. The awards were in music, art, shop, band, and two voted by his classmates - most friendliest and most liked.
Johnny, interested in music started at College Hill Community Center at a young age, and remained with him, his entire life, he was a member at Allenge Memorial Church and on several occaion as a tennager played the trumpet on the church program. Johnny attended Community College while in the United States Navy, in San Diego, CA.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father Thomas O. Gordon; grandmothers Johnnie R. Marsh and ennie Sue Gordon Tony; great grandmother Lativia Williams; uncle B.J. Taylor.
Johnny is survived by mother Adrienne Marsh Summerroww; sister Andrea G. Battle; aunt Terriea Price; nephews Xavier R. Keef and Beryl Denise Williams; son Anthony Gladden; grandson Anthony Gladden, Jr.; other cousins and friends, Philip, Cynthia, Mark, Taura, Karen, Monique, Basinl; Felicia, Arnetta, Felix and Gail.
A visitation for Johnny will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Franklin Strickland Chapel, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404 with Inurnment to follow at 2:00 pm at Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
