Judith Irene Bonsor, 84, died May 17, 2026. She was born on April 30, 1942, in Daventry, England, and grew up in Tottenham in London to the late Ronald James and Ivy May Hewitt. A resident of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Judith will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for a life marked by steady kindness, attentive thoughtfulness, and a compassionate regard for others.
After grammar school, Judith graduated from a London secretarial college. In her early years, she also found joy in ballroom dancing—an interest that reflected a quiet grace and an appreciation for life’s simple, meaningful pleasures.
Prior to moving to the United States, Judith worked as an administrative assistant with various companies in England. She later dedicated more than 30 years of service as an administrative assistant at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, where her reliability and considerate professionalism were evident in the care she brought to her work and the people around her.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Terry Bonsor. Survivors include her children, John Bonsor (Tammy) and Michelle Lewis (Carlon); seven grandchildren, Kelly Navarro (Kyle), Kristen Weitz (Matthew), Ian Bonsor, Auston Lewis, Kelly Norton (Chris), Allie Namath (Troy), and Peter Wright (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Eli, Cameron, Bolton, Finnley, Whitaker, Bridger, Nellis and Maeve; sister-in-law, Rachel Bonsor; and cousins, Graham Harrold, Geoff Barrell, Janis Barrell, Kim Mills and Alexander McIntosh.
In her personal life, Judy loved gardening, reading, and traveling, and she faithfully supported her favorite English soccer club, Tottenham Hotspur. Above all, she cherished time with her family, offering a steady presence and a generous spirit that made others feel seen and cared for. She was also famous for her shepherd’s pie, a beloved tradition that brought people together with warmth and familiarity.
Judy was involved with the Caring Neighbors Group in her local community of Stonebrook. She also held a heartfelt concern for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Charlotte, NC—causes that reflected the compassion that guided her life.
A celebration of life for Judy will be held at a later date.
