

Porter was an exceptional athlete and leader. He attended Purdue University on a full basketball scholarship from 1992 to 1996, where he helped lead the team to three Big Ten Championships in 1994,1995 and 1996.
In 1996, he was honored as Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.
After college, Porter continued his basketball career overseas, playing professionally in Argentina, the United Kingdom and France.
Porter was preceded in death by his father, Porter Roberts, III; grandfathers, Porter Roberts, II and Freddie Allison; grandmothers, Frankie Roberts and Mildred Ashley; great grandmother, Nancy Morrow; and uncle, Anthony Roberts.
Those Porter leaves behind to cherish his memory include his mother, Angelia Allison of Whitestown, IN; sons, Porter Roberts V of California, Franklin Roberts and Zion Roberts of Florida; and Corinthian Roberts of Chattanooga, TN; brother, Thadus Williams; sister, Willetha Allison both of Indiana; special brother, Kenneth Sanders of Chattanooga, TN; other relatives and friends.
A Visitation for Porter will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services Franklin-Strickland Chapel, 1724 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, 37404.
A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm.
