Merle Knight Jr

Merle Edward Knight, JR age 79 passed away Tuesday March 5, 2013 at Springfield Health & Rehab.

He was born in Springfield, Vt October 6, 1933 son of Merle E. and Eva (Rabidoux) Knight, Sr.

He was married to Mavis Brooks in 1951 in Chester. Merle was a Carpenter having worked his entire career as a Contractor and Home Builder; He had also worked for Connecticut Valley Construction.

Merle is survived by his wife, Mavis Knight; two sons, Lance Knight of Chester and Rick Knight of Arlington; one Daughter, Merlene Knight; one brother Richard Knight of Springfield; two sisters, Jean Sheehan and Judy Knight. He is also survived by Six Grandchildren, One Great Grandchild and nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Shirley Stillwell and one great grandson.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Adams Funeral Home, 35 Depot St. Chester. Friends may visit at the funeral home one hour prior the service from 10:00 to 11:00

Graveside committal services and interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, N. Springfield at a later date.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Vermont
