Born May 5, 1921, in Czechoslovakia, he had lived in Chester Township since 1969.
Mr. Halasz was a member of St. Anselm Church and the Young of Heart. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Halasz was a retired upholsterer.
Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Ann (Kovacs); children, Andrew J. (Linda), Steven J. and Beth Halasz; grandchildren, Neil (Jenny), Russell (Kristina) and Carl Halasz; four great-grandsons; sisters, Mary Kacsandi, Helen Maslanko and Margaret German; and brother, Steve Halasz.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Saint Anselm Church, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township, OH 44026. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
