Chauncey “Bud” Thompson, age 85, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, March 20, 2020. Born November 15, 1934 in Dover, OH, he was a Euclid resident before moving to Chester Twp. in 1968. Bud was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a former 17 year member of the Lions Club, actively coaching and refereeing. He also loved hunting and fishing. Bud was a Machinist for Lincoln Electric for 30 some years, retiring in 1996. He is survived by his wife Judith (nee Estvander) and brother Jack Thompson; children Gregg (Jill), Tracie (Doug) Russell, and Brad (Joy); daughters-in-law Sheila Thompson and Kate Thompson; grandchildren Daniel (Kathy) Thompson, Nicole (Eric) Yu, Megan Thompson, Moriah Thompson, Autumn Thompson, Chloe Thompson, Maggie Thompson, Kyle Roark, Madonna Roark, Beckham Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Taylor Russell, and Landon Russell; great-grandchildren Hunter Sigley, Kyle Whitaker, Peyton Thompson, Oliver Roark and Miles Yu. Bud is preceded in death by his sons Daniel Ray Thompson and Scott Patrick Thompson; and siblings Dale, Beverly, and Alan. Due to the current public health concerns, services will be announced and take place at a later date.
