Duane Edwin Redlinger, age 73, beloved husband, companion and friend of more than 51 years to his wife, Carol (nee Mastrobuono), was welcomed into the loving arms of his Savior at home on September 9th, 2022 with his wife by his side. He was born on May 10th, 1949 in Winner, SD. A Chesterland resident of 26 years, he and Carol previously lived in Euclid, OH. He is also survived by his sisters Marcia Blomberg, Janice Burlette (Kevin) and Rita Laviolette (Eddie); and many nieces and nephews. His parents Edwin and Carol (Jerred) Redlinger are deceased. A quiet, unassuming man, Duane served God his whole life, including several years as a church administrator and youth pastor. He specialized in mobilizing people to work together as volunteers on church projects to achieve stated goals. He retired from First Energy where he worked as a Health Physics Technician at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Duane was a graduate of Evangel University in Springfield, MO where he and Carol met. He loved sports, and faithfully followed the Indians, Browns, Cavs and Buckeyes. He loved to sing and was a church choir member. Duane was a lifelong scholar, always learning, reading and writing. He was devoted especially to Carol’s parents, helping care for each of them until their deaths. Visitation is from 10am-12 Noon on Thursday September 15th, 2022 with service following at 12 Noon. The family has requested a private burial. He will be remembered as a compassionate, patient, loving man who had a common sense approach to problems, sprinkled with a quirky sense of humor.
