

Ethel H. Rex (nee Horvath), age 84, of Chester Twp., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 6, 2011. Ethel was born April 26, 1927 in Hartsgrove, and lived in Rome before moving to Chester Twp. in 1961.
She was an active member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Chester Twp., serving in many capacities especially enjoying Prayer Group and Bible Study. Ethel enjoyed flower arranging and participating at the Geauga County Fair with the Chester Garden Club. She volunteered for many years at the Metzanbaum Center in Chester Twp., was a Leader for Campfire Girls, an active parent volunteer with the West Geauga School System, and a longtime election poll worker in Geauga Co.
Ethel worked along side her husband Glenn at their insurance agency for 50 years.
She is survived by her husband Glenn; sons David (Karen) and Keith; daughters Nancy (J. Brad) Moritz and Merry (Greg) Poe; grandchildren Courtney Rex (Jason) Crawford, Jessica Rex (Kyle) Leadbetter, Tyler N. Rex, Logan (Lindsey) Moritz, Jared Moritz, Evan Moritz, Jonathan Moritz, Samantha (Jared) Wittensoldner, Rex Poe, Carter Poe, Casey Poe, and Sadie Poe; and great-grandchildren Graham Crawford, Mason Leadbetter, and Rogen Leadbetter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Theresa (nee Ivek) Horvath; brothers Steve and Julius Horvath; and sisters Thersia Brunsky and Irene Horvath.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 12419 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, OH 44026.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ethel’s memory may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church (address above).
