Jane Mary Burns

JANE MARY BURNS (nee Schiffert) passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at the age of 86. She was born June 15, 1930 in Lockport, NY, and had lived in South Russell since 1964. Jane was an avid bowler, and enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and flying with her late husband James. She was once a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Nanny for several different families. Jane had a love for children, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was primarily a homemaker but had worked for the Draft Board during WWII. Jane is survived by children Bruce (Sarah), Kevin (Carole), Alan, Sally (Jacob) Adams, and Mark (Susan); grandchildren Ian, Sarah, Gianna, Jillian, James, John, and Brian; and brother James Schiffert. She was preceded in death by her husband James; sons James and Duane; and siblings Cornelius Schiffert, Virginia Barnwell, Gerald Schiffert, Gordon Schiffert, and John Schiffert.
