
She was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Cleveland.
Jean was a longtime member of St. Helen Church Parish and the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxillary, Post 1812.
She enjoyed trips to Canada, often fishing with her family. She also enjoyed taking cruises and casino trips with her husband Jack, including Las Vegas and the Bahamas. Jean enjoyed bowling with her husband as well. She loved playing cards, mostly with the "craft club".
Jean had a green thumb, and loved growing plants and flowers throughout the house. She adored her grandchildren.
She worked at Prots Food Center in Newbury Twp. for 29 years.
She is survived by her husband Jack; son, George (Susan); daughters, Theresa (Frank) Barkman and Jackie (Bill) Svec; grandchildren, Glorianna (Adam) Camburako, Elizabeth Lashley, and Billy Svec; sisters, Lee (Sam) Maniche and Mella Tomcik; brothers, Tony (Amie) Artino and Jim (Joanne) Artino; aunt, Lena Simione; many nieces and nephews; and family pet Braylon
She was preceded in death by her parents, Egnazio and Mary Artino; brother-in-law, Joe Tomcik; and uncle, Angelo Simione.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.,Friday, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chester Twp.
Funeral Service will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd., Newbury Twp. the Rev. Jay McPhillips will officiate. Burial will be at Newbury Center Cemetery in Newbury Twp.
