Joanne G. Gorris (nee Jedlinsky), age 81, of Troy, passed away on Thursday November 4th, 2021 in Chardon. She was born on April 20th, 1940 in Cleveland. Joanne lived in Cleveland prior to moving to Burton with her family in 1971 and spent the last thirteen years in Troy. Joanne had a gift for numbers which she used in her work as a bookkeeper and as a former Burton Township Clerk and Legal aide. She enjoyed knitting, baking, playing cards, her antiques, traveling the United States and spending time with her friends, especially the “Over the Hill Gang”. She cherished her time with her children and grandchildren but was happiest when with her husband, Adelbert. He was her love, her companion and her partner in all things that made life joyful. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Adelbert Gorris; K9 companion Tommy; children Eileen (Todd) Harford, Karen (Andrew) Hicock, Wendi (David) Sturm, Nicholas (Melissa) Gorris; grandchildren Alyssa (Eric) Levicky, Ryan Harford, Robert Hicock, Danielle Hicock, Nicholas Hicock, Joseph and Jack Sturm; great grandchildren Mara Rose and Joseph Levicky. She is preceded in death by her parents Elsie (nee Veverka) and Joseph Jedlinsky; and brother James Jedlinsky.
Family and friends may call at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road., Newbury on Wednesday November 10th, 2021 at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am. (Please meet at church). Private Interment at a later date. Reception to follow in the church social hall.
