In 2008, Martha returned a long overdue library book (61 years) to Holland Hall with a cheery note and a check to cover any overdue fees- a story that still pops up! She is missed by her Holland Hall community.

So sad to hear of Martha's passing. I knew her through Up with People, and had the privilege to spend time with her and Jerry on a number of occasions. Her smile, generosity, quick wit and altruism will be truly missed. Condolences to Jerry and all the family.

As you know, I just learned this morning of Martha's passing.  I am very saddened and send my deepest sympathy to you and all of your family.   

Martha was such an amazing, devoted, and caring woman.  I remember her mostly from my high school years in Westfield.  We mostly exchanged Christmas cards over the years.

She was an inspirational role model for me.  She recommended me to serve on the Board of Directors of the YMCA in Westfield when I was 17 years old.  She saw many of my abilities before I did.

She loved her family deeply, was very generous with her time and wisdom, and touched most everyone who was privileged to know her.

She left behind a special gift to all who have been fortunate to know her; Mrs. Jarrett was the driving reason why UWP lives on! And for this, 25,000 alumni and millions more, will be eternally grateful. Cleveland will always be indebted to her and all her energy that gave much more than she received from her adopted home town. Sending my heartfelt sympathy to you all.  I am so happy I was in Tucson and got to talk with Martha one last time - I always made sure that was part of every reunion I attended.  Martha was an amazing woman and touched so many lives - her spirit will live on in some many people in so many parts of the world. Jerry and family:  We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Martha's passing. We are in Naples and unable to attend the service but our thoughts and prayers are with you.  Martha was a dynamic woman who was a true leader and we have many wonderful memories of the two of you throughout our Ameritrust years and thereafter.  We so enjoyed seeing the two of you, along with Ruth and Bill, last year at dinner in Twinsburg.  Our deepest sympathy for your loss.
