Mary Carol Gullo (née Mooney), known to her friends as “Sam,” passed away February 7, 2026. Born March 3, 1939, Sam graduated from Collinwood High School in 1957, married shortly after, and raised four children.
She was a talented artist whose horse paintings were exhibited several times in Kentucky. Sam was a lifelong learner and a constant reader.
A devoted animal lover, Sam preferred the company of dogs to just about anything else. She cared for many dogs throughout her life and, if heaven is anything like she imagined, she is surrounded by them now.
Sam was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Josephine Mooney, and her granddaughter, Cecillia Jane. She is survived by her children, Anita, Angela, Joanne, and Timothy; her grandchildren, George (Lauren) and Tim; and her great-grandchildren, Isaac and Rose.
