Born April 17, 1954, in Detroit, Mich., and moved to Pepper Pike in 1964. She later moved to La Jolla, Calif., for six years before moving back to Ohio to become a bookkeeper for the family business. For the past 26 years, Michelle had raised her two children in her Chester Township home.
Michelle was an avid gardener. Every day of summer, one could find her outside cutting the grass, planting flowers or tending to the vegetable garden. The sunshine was Michelle's peace of mind. During each sports season, one could find her sitting in front of the television catching a game. Michelle had a passion for Cleveland sports, something deeply shared with her son. She would always take him to card shows, wait in long lines for autographs and plan trips to Cooperstown, N.Y.
Michelle also loved music. She was always going to concerts, especially with her daughter. Their cheap thrill was getting the best seats and meeting the bands after the show.
Michelle is survived by her children, Shawn (Nichole) and Katie; grandchildren, Rachel, Breawna and Brevin; sister, Colleen; uncle, Willie (Connie); nephew, Bernie; nieces, Brandy (Dana), Ashley (Scott) and Madison; cousins, Joey, Kevin, Eddie (Kim), Julie (Stacey), Jeffrey, Mary and their children; great-niece, Taylor; and a handful of best friends.
Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and Bernie Shulman; uncle and aunt, Joe and Isabelle Forest; grandparents, Albina and Edmond Forest; and cousin, David Forest.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township, OH 44026.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Geauga County Humane Society's Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Road, Russell Township, OH 44072.
