Raymond Charles Zeitz

Raymond Charles Zeitz, 78, of Chesterland, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 7, 2024. Ray was the son of the late Willis and Anna (nee Reichert) Zeitz and was born in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his brother Bill; and his wife of 31 years, Marlane (deceased 2021).

Ray is fondly remembered by his children Willis (Heidi), Jennifer (John “Billy”), Jeff (Christine), and Stephanie Pugh (Dan); 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister Ann Marie Hansel (Ralph); best friend of many years, Frank Wardega; and four legged companion, Jazzmin.

Ray enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a Boy Scout, fisherman, woodworker, and gardener. While serving as a Deacon and later as a Pastor, he traveled to churches to help them get their start. For many years, Ray was a faithful parishioner of St. Anselm Catholic Parish in Chesterland.

Burial with Navy Honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where Ray and Marlane will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 1:45pm. All in attendance are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:30pm and park in the designated lane indicated on the signage at the cemetery entrance.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 30, 2024 at 2pm at 5438 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Please RSVP with Jennifer at 330-459-3004.
