Deacon Robert C. Kovach, Jr., age 72, entered into eternal life April 9, 2025. Born October 24, 1952 in Cleveland, he resided in Chester Township since 1994. Bob married his beloved wife Margie on August 11, 1979 at St. Vitus Church, and was a loving and encouraging father to his three children.
Bob spent much of his professional life as an Industrial Engineer, serving with distinction in both Cleveland and Chester Township. After his retirement, he continued to serve others through his meaningful work with Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, where his quiet strength and compassion left a lasting impact on countless families.
On May 1, 2010, Bob was ordained a Deacon for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and served the faith community of St. Anselm Church in Chester Township. This moment marked the beginning of a deeply fulfilling spiritual vocation. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he carried out his Deacon duties with grace, humility, and unwavering dedication. He especially treasured his time spent with the school children at St. Anselm, finding great joy and purpose in nurturing the next generation.
Away from his many acts of service, Bob found peace in the simple pleasures of life. He loved being outdoors, walking, exercising, and tending to his yard with the same care and attention he offered to all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife Margie (nee Meglic); sons Brian (Amber), Jon (Sarah Blasko), and Justin (Gabrielle Ricks); brother Michael (Michele); sisters-in-law Maria (Vince) Sustersic, Ana Cholewa, Toni (Luddy) Suman, Rosie (John) Sullivan, Josie Kumazec, and Irene Bujdos; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
