To my beautiful mother in law,

There truly are no words to express the great sadness our family feels since you were called Home. We miss you in every way possible. It's not just the big things but the little everyday things that are difficult. Almost daily phone calls and texts with you are hard to live without. So many times I pick up the phone to send you a picture of the kids or a random text or think to myself "Cathy would know the answer to that" and then reality hits and I realize I can't call you. You have treated me like family since the day I met you. You always wanted to know what was happening in my life and how things were going. That never stopped. You always wanted to be there for Billy and me, together and separately. I remember how excited you were when you found out Billy told me he loved me. You literally jumped up and down because you were so happy. I'll never forget that. You had the same reaction when we got engaged. It was great to know how excited you were for us. You cried with me during the hardest times in my life and told me everything would be ok. And it was. The hardest was losing our baby and you did your best to stay positive for us. I know you're in Heaven with our baby and your other grandchildren. One of the things I admired most about you was your love for your family. You were the true definition of a mother. You wanted to be involved in everything in our lives and always wanted to share advice and personal stories with us. I loved hearing stories of Billy growing up. After I we met and I really got to know you, I knew I wanted to be similar to you because I wanted to stay home with my kids and take care of my family, the same way you did. I also knew I wanted my marriage to be similar to that of yours and Bill's. When we lived with you for six weeks last summer I got to see a side of you and Bill that I had never seen before. I saw the depth of your love for each other every day. I watched you kiss each other good morning every single day and I was blown away that you still did that after all these years. You and Bill set a great example for what marriage should look like. I'm grateful that you instilled those values in Billy and that he views marriage the same way. I hope we have as many wonderful years together as you and Bill did. 
Our family will never be the same without you. Brayden asks about you all the time and there have been days where Addison carries your picture around with her. They loved you so much and loved when you came over to play with them. I'll never forget how excited you were when they both were born. Or the look on your face when we told you we were having a baby girl. I'll always remember the happy tears that day. When Addison was born the  nurse told me she had to stand in front of the door because you wanted to go in right away to see your new granddaughter. Jen told me that as soon as you heard Addison cry you took off running for my room because you had to see her. You were the first in the room and glowing when Billy handed Addison to you. It was a great moment. I'm sad we won't get to do the girly things we talked about doing with Addison but I promise to still include you when I take her to those places. Brayden loved your kisses in his neck and playing cookie jam with you. He asks about you a lot and misses you. We all do. Thank you for always having our best interests at heart and teaching us how important family is. You were more than just my mother in law, you were also my friend. I'm forever thankful for the relationship we had. We love and miss you so much.

I love you and I will miss you forever.  I have an overwhelming feeling of sadness and my heart is truly broken.  I will always have so many memories of you. You were loving, kind and compassionate.  Your love was never ending and your kindness and compassion showed in so many different ways throughout your life. You showed so much love and kindness to myself and my girls . There was always an open invitation extended to us to spend each holiday with you, Bill and your family.   Every holiday we spent together have special memories for me. The one I cherish the most was the Christmas your gift to me was the beautiful blanket that you made. I always keep it close to remind me of the love you had always shown to me .  Cathy, I love you forever.

Aunt Cathy, as I sit here and write to you, the song Forever Young is playing on the TV. Tears flow down my cheeks as I listen to the lyrics. I've heard the songs more than a dozen times but for the first time I am hearing the lyrics speak right to me. 

May your hands always be busy

May you have a strong foundation 
When the winds of changes shift

And may your song always be sung
May you stay forever young

Many people take this song and relate it to a young child but right now, the words bring me to you. Each line is related to you. Whenever I saw you, your hands were movin'. Whether it be cooking, playing with your grandchildren, smoking your skinny cigarettes, or playing games on your iPhone. You built a foundation for our family. When we thought it was lost when we lost grandma, you made sure that your sisters and their children were not alone. You will never be forgotten; your heart and soul will live on. You were too young, so yes, may you stay forever young. 

I talk to my mom every morning on my way to work. I hear the slightest tear or cough when it comes to the mention of your name. You were a mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, and so much more. I'll never forget the holidays. After we lost Aunt Mary, you made me feel like I still had a Godmother, gifting me each holiday. It's the little things that matter, and you did it all. As tears flow down my cheeks writing this to you, I have had one burst of laughter, the planning of my mother's 60th surprise. I was in charge of the drinks; I was to drop them off on my way to ISU. We must have talked about three times on my way to your place but not realizing I was on the wrong highway the entire ride. We laughed and laughed at how silly I was but we pulled it together just in time! 

I'm not sure I have fully accepted you being gone. The holidays will be hard, but we are Wolf strong.

Words can not express how much we all miss you. I don't think we can ever have cake again at birthday parties because no one will be able to cut the cake like you. Thank you for always sneaking me the flowers off the cake no matter how old I got, you knew that was my favorite part. I am so thankful and lucky that I have the blanket that you made me, I will always have a special part of you with me.

Cathy, I miss you every day. What I am going to miss most of all is having the honor of sharing your birthday. My favorite memories with you are racing every year to be the first to wish the other a happy birthday.

Oh how I miss you...Cathy I will forever cherish all my memories of you and I. I will be forever grateful for all your love and support. What I will miss more then anything is your beautiful smile, all our phone calls, but most of all how I made you laugh with all my silly stories, silly come backs and we'll just being me "goofy".  Cathy you had a Heart of GOLD and a listening ear for anyone. The only comfort I seem to get is that you are home with the Lord. I continue my prayers of strength for Bill, the kids and grandkids to go on without you. You were simply the BEST. YOU WILL BE FOREVER IN MY DAILY THOUGHTS AND HEART.till we meet again. Aunt Cathy

Growing up in the Wolf family, I always felt like all the aunts had a part in raising my cousins and I, and Cathy was no different. She was there for me in good times and in bad, and I always knew she had my best interests in mind. There are so many qualities that made Cathy into the special woman that I was lucky enough to have as my aunt and God Mother.   
One of those qualities that I admire was her love and loyalty to her family. She loved spoiling her grandchildren, and always took good care of Billy, Katie, Michael and Uncle Bill. I remember going to her house as a kid in Blue Island to go swimming in the gigantic pool when Uncle Bill was working nights, and she made all of us stay quiet in the pool so we didn't wake him up. Or when Uncle Bill would work during the long, hot summer days for ComEd, and Cathy would keep the air conditioning down to freezer level for him so he had a cool house to come home to after work.
Another trait that stands out in my mind about Cathy is how special she made the holidays. She always made sure to make her green fluff especially for me. For the St. Patrick's Day Parade each year, Cathy supplied all the corned beef for everyone at our house.  At Thanksgiving, her and my mom had a system they followed: my mom would bring out her good napkins and some silverware and set the table, and Cathy would cook everything. Her strategic Christmas decorating always amazed me each year, making sure each tree branch got three strands of lights, and setting up her old fashioned Christmas village that took up the whole family room.  Also as a little boy I remember Uncle Bill and Cathy having great 4th of July parties in Blue Island with the best BBQs.. that I will always remember. They created special memories for me that I hope to pass down to my children.
Last, but definitely not least, Cathy had a heart of gold. She spent countless hours knitting blankets for all the babies in our family. She always helped my mom and me with her green thumb expertise, and her and Uncle Bill continued to help me with my house and garden questions after my mom passed away. She made sure to attend everyone's celebrations and, in time of need, Cathy was always there. 
I am so grateful to have had my Aunt Cathy in my life for 39 years. She will always hold a special place in my heart.  I will miss her, but will always remember the wonderful memories that she made with us.

            Moms Eulogy

Mom-
There are no words to truly express the heartbreak that I feel from losing you not only as my mom but as my best friend. I just always assumed that you were going to be around and you were going to watch all your grandchildren grow up and go to all the special occasions in their lives. To see the amazing people that they will no doubt become and to be able to hear how proud you are of them and most importantly to see you and dad grow old together. 

There really is no greater love story than that of you and dad.  Living back with you these past 5 years I have gotten to witness it and see all the little things that make the heart happy. I am going to miss seeing you and dad kiss each other good morning and good night every single day. To watch you and dad joke around and act like teenagers, to see you both smile. You and dad lived for each other and it showed in everything that you did. 

You two have been inseparable since you were 15 years old. There was nothing more that I loved than hearing stories about you and dad when you were younger. All the cute little things that you two did, all the crazy things and all the laughs you shared. Even till the day God called you home, you and dad still laughed, smiled, and had the best of times with each other. Always doing things together and you were both looking forward to growing old together and watching your grandchildren grow up.

My brothers and I couldn't have asked for a better mom in this life time. We were shown unconditional love, compassion, trust, and generosity. No matter what we did, and well let's face it mom we did some pretty dumb stuff, you always stuck by our side. We could go to you and talk about anything, ask for your advice, or just talk because we needed to. You always listened no matter what, and if you didn't like what we were doing you would voice your opinion. You wouldn't tell us not to do it, but would highly suggest that we didn't. Which usually meant don't do it cause I don't want to have to deal with your father when he finds out what you have been up to. 

Mom you gave me and the boys the best childhood any kid could ask for. You were a stay at home mom and did everything and anything you could for us. We got to spend all the time in the world with you and even though we didn't know it when we were younger, we were making memories to last a life time. We always had a full belly and were clothed, and let me just say mom I often wonder what were you thinking when you dressed me and the boys when we were younger?   You were our cheerleader and our biggest fan at all of our sporting events, school events, and really anything we did. You were so proud of all three of us. You always told us the sky is your limit but I know you will go above and beyond that. You encouraged us, taught us core values and were teaching us how to live our lives to the fullest. The only thing you never taught us mom was how to live without you. 

You were without a doubt a family person, loving everyone with all your heart. You always made sure that everyone knew you were there for them. You took an interest in all your sisters, your brother, nieces and nephews lives. You were such a motherly figure to everyone, always checking up on them, making sure all was well, you always said your door was open and you truly meant it. It seems like everyone went to you for advice because they knew you would listen and always had their best interest at heart. You lived for family and it showed. You often opened your home up and when you did you always made sure it felt warm and homely. You took in family and friends who needed a place to stay out of the goodness of your heart. You truly had the biggest heart that was made of gold. You loved with all you had and felt everything with such a passion.  You always comforted people and made sure they felt the warmth you had to offer.  

Mom we all know your grandbabies were your pride and joy. Your face would light up and you would have a smile from ear to ear when they were around. You loved them more than anything in this world. I know that the boys and I are so happy that you got to be there as we brought them into this world. You never stopped talking about them and took every and any opportunity you could get to tell the world about them. You have 6 beautiful grandbabies who will forever and always love their grandma and you have 3 beautiful angel babies that you are now with. I know that you will take care of them until they can be with their parents again. Please watch over all your grandbabies and watch them grow into the amazing people that they will no doubt turn into. 

When you went somewhere and it really didn't matter where mom you always made friends. People could just feel the warmth that your spirit gave off. You were always talking to people and you took a genuine interest in their lives. Even if you just met them, the next time you saw them you would ask how things were going and would remember everything they had told you. You truly have met some great people who have no doubt turned into some of your best friends. I know that you didn't think you had many friends but I can honestly say that you had more than you will ever know. I know this because of all the condolences we have gotten and all of the heartwarming things people have said about you mom. You truly made an impact in people's lives. We all already knew that you were an amazing woman with a heart of gold, but to hear it from people who had only met you a couple times makes me proud to be your daughter. 

If I turn out to be half the woman that you were then I will be happy. I never realized how much you did for me until you were gone. I can honestly say you are going to have some good laughs watching me and dad figure this all out. I know you are watching over everyone that you loved in your lifetime and you are going to make sure they are ok just as you did when you were here. 

Even though the pain is unimaginable right now I know that you are reunited with your mom and sister and I have some comfort knowing this. We are all going to have a void that can never be filled by anyone else. Dad said it best about losing you. He said that you can't ever replace the best and mom was the best, it just doesn't get any better than her. 

We all love, cherish and miss you more than anything in this world. I am thankful that you opened your heart to so many people because now your memory will live on and I can't wait to hear about you from others for years to come. 

Always and forever in all our hearts, we will miss you to the moon and back! Rest in peace my beautiful Angel up above!

Memories of Grandma from her Grandbabies

Aidan- loved everything about grandma. Loved that she was always here for him and gave him anything he wanted. Is glad that he lived with Grandma and got to spend all the time in the world with her.  What he loved most was his Grandma kisses every night before bed. 

Andrew- Loved Grandma more than anything and was happy to spend all the time that he did with her. He was glad that Grandma got to see him play baseball and watch him do tricks on his bike. 

Tyler- All of my memories of Grandma are great and I just loved her.

Brayden- Loved playing with Grandma. He had so much fun at key lime cove going down the water slides and loved the pirate hat grandma got him. He loved blowing bubbles with her, and his absolute favorite was grandma's kisses on his neck, it would make him have the deepest belly laugh. Bray Bray also loved taking Grandmas phone and playing Cookie Jam! Grandma got him addicted to it. 

Connor- Loved calling Grandma and talking to her on the phone. He even called her and asked if she could go pick up his girlfriend for him. He loved his phone calls

Addison- Loves her stroller that grandma got her for Christmas. She pushes her baby dolls around in it all day every day. Mom especially loved to laugh at Addie cakes as she bossed everyone around. Addie also loved blowing bubbles with grandma.

Mommy-

There really are no words to describe how I feel on losing you not only as my mom but as my best friend. There is a void that can never be filled by you being gone. You were the rock of our family and we will forever be grateful for you. We are all a little lost without you right now and just trying to survive each day! You were the most amazing mom and glad I got you for 32 years. You were kind and gentle, caring and loving, funny and sarcastic. I am going to miss our conversations, your laugh and smile, but mostly your hugs. Aidan misses you more than ever. He misses his Grandma hugs and kisses every night. It just still doesn't feel like you are truly gone. I keep waiting for you to walk in the door and yell at us for the floor being dirty or something. I promise to look out for dad and my brothers. I will do you proud! I am a lot like you and have only figured that out since God called you home. I miss you to the moon and back mommy! Forever and always in my heart. Keep watching over all of us as we begin our journey of living life with out you!

        As I type this I'm still in disbelief of you not being here. I know if it were up to you, you would be here to watch your great grandchildren grow. If I knew that morning, that would be our last phone conversation togther, I would have never hung up the phone. We are all left with a empty spot in our souls with your passing. That empty spot will never be filled until we meet again in Heaven. I miss your smile, your laugh and unconditional love. Please give my boys a hug and let them know grandma is home to look after them till we are all togther again. I love you mom!

Cathy was a wonderful woman and friend.  I selfishly believe the good Lord called her too soon.  Her kindness, concern for others, and witty sense of humor will be greatly missed by all friends and family, but we will certainly carry a space in our hearts for her forever.  Hoping wonderful memories and great faith will sustain you.

I wasn't going to sign this because it has been so long since I have actually seen any of the Lundbergs!  Me and Bill were in the same grammar school class and over the years just grew apart.  That happened a lot to me cause I joined the Marines right out of high school.  Social media has reconnected us, which is really good, and I have been able to see everyone grow their families.  I know lots of this will sound corny and I can't help it because I lost my father 3 yrs ago and this has completely brought me back to that moment I found out.  That day completely changed how I view life!!  I remember Cathy was so full of energy and happiness!  She was one of the nicest ladies I ever met growing up.  Life didn't seem to be a hassle to her and she really loved her family!!  These are all things I remember and now seeing what people post about her I know that things never changed for her!  I am truly sorry for your loss guys and you have really been on my mind a lot since hearing this news!  I truly hope that you stay strong as a family and know that she is up there watching over you guys everyday!!  Take care of each other guys, especially the old man, the Koch's are here for you guys no matter what!!

Where do I begin... I've been sitting here since Friday evening after hearing the news thinking this can't be real... This has to be some terrible joke... Every time my moms phone rings I listen thinking maybe it's you and this has all just been a nightmare.  I know that's not going to happen...this is real and it hurts so bad!  What I will cherish are those phone calls we would get from you , the daily words of encouragement you would send in my new daily walk of life... Most people dream of having a "fairy" godmother... Mine was real... I remember just this past Easter telling you I couldn't ask for a better Godmother... Your calls while my mom was in Cabo..."just checking in.." Because what 28 year old can't go a week alone without some family check ins? Haha! Also I'll never forget the time u called to tell me you were booking me a flight home from baltimore so I could come to Billy and Sheila's wedding... What a fun time and something I always appreciated! 

You opened up your home to us for every holiday with your family...Never forgetting the "divorcee's" (as you would say) ... I can't tell you how much that meant to us! I hope we can continue that tradition! 
Don't worry about Uncle Bill, I'm sure my mom can find plenty of projects for him around our new place! Haha! 

I love you Cathy and I always will... Say hi to Mary,Grandma, and Dorothy!  Don't cause too much havoc!

So sorry for your loss!  Cathy was such a vibrant woman!  I truly enjoyed talking with her when Connor played with Aiden  and times at the hockey rink during hockey academy . . .and a few times at Throwbacks!  

She was so awesome to Connor and he LOVED spending time at your house when he played with Aiden.  She will be missed!!

Nothing but great memories of your mom and dad back in the baseball days in Blue Island. Always had team back to your pool after games. Very good times for all the players.
