Chester Joseph Olenski

He was born in Milford, Connecticut to Chester and Anna, nee Brzozowski, Olenski on May 13, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy and then went on to be a bus driver for the Chicago Transit Authority.

Chester is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joanne, nee Daeschler,; his siblings Joe (the late Estelle) Olenski, Stanley (the late Sophie) Olenski, John (the late Nancy) Olenski, Helen Olenski (the late Steven) Rice, Henry (the late Patricia) Olenski, Albert Olenski, and Anthony (the late Barbara) Olenski; and his brother-in-law Robert Eagles.

He is survived by his sister Irene Olenski Eagles; his sister-in-law Michelle Olenski; his children Michael (Cheryl) Olenski, David Olenski, and Craig (Vicki) Olenski; his grandchildren Jennifer (Frank) Place, Michael T. (Madi) Olenski, Kelsey (Michael) Stauffer; Kailey Olenski; Hans Heitman, and Erica Heitman; his great-grandchildren Nikki, Joey, Mariah, Hans, and Michael; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 11 AM – 12 PM at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church at 5545 N Paulina St, Chicago, IL 60640. A Funeral Mass will then take place at 12 PM noon. Military honors will then be rendered at the conclusion of Mass.
