Debra Ann Melbye, 79 of Chicago Illinois went to her eternal reward on May 11, 2025. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Alidor and Geraldine DeWolf, her brother Richard DeWolf, and her husband George Melbye. In the last few years, Debra found a second chance for love with John Kovacik of Lincolnwood. Debra was blessed to have George, Susan, Hannah and Caleb Brohlin in her life. Because of the Brohlins and her amazing caregivers, Debra’s final days were filled with compassion. Debra was a caring sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She was a devout Catholic and an active contributor and volunteer for numerous organizations and charities. This included many years of dedicated service to St. Gregory the Great Church and The Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women. Debra never forgot a birthday or special anniversary and was fond of finding that special card for every event. Burial was private, but a gathering to honor and celebrate Debra’s life and legacy will be held in the near future.
