Dr. Delia Torres Fernald, DDS passed away peacefully at her home on July 14th, 2017. Born in Peru, South America to Eugenio Torres and Catalina Fernald. Received Doctorate of Dental Surgery from National University of San Marcos School of Dentistry in Lima, Peru. Former department head of Oral Surgery and Dental Clinic in the Hospital of Sullana in Peru. Former member of many years of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Illinois Dental Society. Immigrated to the United States in 1970 and practiced dentistry for over thirty-two years in Chicago. Loving mother of Jose Bellido, Roque Bellido, and Rosa Bellido-Griffin. Survived by sister Dr. Isabel Torres Caballero, Dr. Hilda Torres, and brother, Jorge Fernald. Survived by former husband Jose Bellido-Yabar, DDS. Preceded in death by her daughter, Rosa Herminia Bellido, brothers Albert Torres Fernald, M.D., Oscar Torres Fernald and sisters Dora Torres and Elida Torres. Loving grandmother of Jose Luis Bellido, Brigitte Bellido, Amanda Hess, Christina Griffin, and Patricia Griffin. Loving great-grandmother of Leonardo Garnica. Loving Aunt of many. Respected dentist of many patients in Chicago.
