Dearest Karen-I wanted to say thank you for sharing your sweet kind father with those of us who had the honor of knowing him. I so looked forward to his visits to The Broadmoor. I very much enjoyed his stories about his life, travels, your mother and you! Please know that he will be greatly missed and I hope that when you travel to Colorado you will stop in and receive some hugs!

Ed used to always call us when he came to Green Mountain Falls and we'd have him over for a home cooked meal and some spirited political discussions. We didn't agree on anything, but could talk about everything.   A few years ago,  I finally got to Chicago and he was such a wonderful host to my mother and me.  We've missed hearing from him and worried that his health was preventing him from making his summer trips to Colorado.  Please accept our sincere sympathy at this time of sorrow, we'll miss Ed.

Edgar was more than just a neighbor, but a good friend too! I have great memories of our friendship that date back to the 70's when I'd help hook up his latest audio components, talk about the Chicago Bears pending season and as those who really knew Ed, had many interesting conversations revolving around politics. Ravenswood Manor just won't be the same without you. Karen, peace be with you and know that your father was admired, respected and loved by many.

Thank you for the photos of Edgar from our hood. I am particularly drawn to the one of your parents waving from the car after their wedding. They look so delighted! She looks like a movie star and he looks, well, pleased as punch like can you believe this is my bride?  How they loved each other and in the next photo he is holding you. My mother always said no one was happier than they to have had a child.  I know these past few months have been hard but what a great comfort you were to him. Love you.

So sorry for your loss - and I grieve with you in spirit... It was a privilege to have known your father since 1980. I always enjoyed our brief encounters in NYC, Denver, the Broadmoor, and will sorely miss him, his wit and his humor. You were very fortunate to have been able to spend such quality time with him so recently.
