Elsa Orlandi (nee Calamai), 87, native of Bagni di Lucca, Italy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Ezio Orlandi. Loving mother of Fabio, Dani (Susan), Michael, Mario (Judy) and Gloria. Cherished nonna of Nicholas (Alyssa), Gina, Gino, Marco, Carlo, Max, Quinn, Jack, Leo, Joshua and Joseph. Dear sister of the late Rita (late Eddie) Alleman.
Elsa immigrated from Italy with her husband Ezio in 1958, making their home in Chicago, raising five kids while taking English classes in the evening and helping her husband grow the family business, Orlandi Statuary, into what it is today. She was the backbone of the family.
Visitation Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 10am to 12 noon at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646.
Burial service and interment immediately following at St. Adalberts Catholic Cemetery, 6800 Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL.
Elsa was a breast cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elsa's name to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation at www.koman.org would be appreciated.
