Ernestina Valdez, age 91, was born in Pachuca, Mexico on November 7, 1930, and born into eternity on April 28, 2022, surrounded by her most loving family. Ernestina was the beloved wife of the late Agustin M. Valdez; most loving mother of Carolina (Jose) Lopez, Gela (Santiago) Aybar, Beatriz (Robert) Kukla, Lourdes (Mario) Mendoza, Mariano (Maria) Valdez; adoring grandmother of Jose Lopez, Ana (Neyrus) Santos, Rosalia Lopez, Rosario Aybar, Julio Aybar, Robert Kukla, Michael Kukla, David Kukla, Angie (Mike) Havelka, Mario Mendoza, Rebecca Mendoza, Adelina (Esteban) Herrera, and Amanda (Gustavo) Ruiz; most adoring great-grandmother of Grace Lopez, Eryen, Cyrus, Elyana, and Annalise Santos, Julio Matias Aybar, Derrik Kukla, Mia & Mikey Havelka, Gustavo & Javier Ruiz, Alejandro & Emilia Herrera; dear sister of Guadalupe Garcia and the late Mariano Lopez; unforgettable aunt; caring cousin; and fond friend of many.

A final viewing prayers will occur Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, Blossom Venue, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. A mass of christian burial will occur Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint William Church, 2600 N. Sayre Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707. A committal & interment service will occur Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, IL 60162.
