Formally of Chicago, Lake in the Hills, and Aurora passed away peacefully in Elgin on January 17, 2023.
Born on May 28th, 1925 Eugene was a World War II Veteran in the U.S. Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany.
He was a skilled Local 21 Bricklayer in Chicago for many years. Eugene loved cats and dogs, his pets Bambi, Deizle, and Snickers. He also followed current news and events, reading the Chicago Sun-Times, good food, and watching old classic sitcoms including The Price is Right, Seinfeld, and Westerns. Eugene made sure not to forget Cubs Baseball on WGN,1:20PM games were his favorite.
He was an avid Sports Fan, loved following the leagues of MLB, NFL, and NBA. His favorite teams were The Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and The Philadelphia Eagles. He was a Donovan McNabb fan.
Eugene was always vibrant, talkative, joking around, laughing, and dancing especially the jitterbug.
He also helped raise his only Granddaughter Cori Frances. His nickname for her was Petunia.
Son of Stanislaw and Eleanora. Loving Brother of Sophie, Regina, Chester, and Henry.
Cherished Husband of 29 years to the late Frances (Faye) Walendziak.
Eugene leaves behind three Daughters Barbara (Kenneth) Stec, Carol Nawrocki, and Deborah Nawrocki.
Four Grandchildren Kenneth (Alison) Stec, Nicholas (Cheri) Kotlarz, Wally (Anastasia-Stacy) Kotlarz, and his loving, beloved, idolized, his baby his life, Granddaughter Cori Frances Nawrocki.
Five Great Grandchildren Bradley, Maxwell, and Grant Stec Liam and Izaak Kotlarz.
Visitation for Eugene will be on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, (Edward A. Tylka, Manager), 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity, 6020 W. Ardmore Ave, Chicago, IL 60646.
