Ghislaine G Dvorak

Ghislaine (Gigi) G. Dvorak died on March 16, 2025 at the age of 89. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law and aunt. Born September 23,1935 in La Malbaie, Quebec, Canada. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald A. Dvorak, her daughter, Michelle Egan (Michael Rzeszutko) and her son, Allen Dvorak. Grandkids include: Dr. Eric (Dr. Katelyn Genebacher)Egan, (great grandson Avan), Steven Egan (fiancé Britni Wilson), Felicia Dvorak (great granddaughter Dalya), A.J Dvorak (fiancé Dora Moreno), Lauren & Alex Miracle and William Rzeszutko. Richard and Sheila Seaberg, her brother and sister in-law, along with many nieces and nephews here and in Canada include: Karen Heil, Lori Seaberg Dervis, Scott Seaberg, Joanne Simard, Francine Simard, Rejanne Paquet, Claude Simard, Jean-pierre Simard, Helene Simard and Linda Simard.

Gigi was a devoted RN who earned her degree from Notre Dame in Montreal. She dedicated her life to caring for others-not only in Canada, but also in Oak Park at West Suburban Hospital and later at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines where she finished her career. Her smile and bubbly personality uplifted everyone around her. Gigi also gave her time generously to her community, volunteering at her local church, St. Zachary in Des Plaines where she joyfully played the piano for the annual fundraiser Port of Call.

GiGi’s Playhouse, the only network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers, offers free educational, therapeutic, and career training programs for individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.

Gigi will be cremated and laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Friday, April 25th at 11a.m. A small memorial ceremony will be held, followed by a luncheon.

One day, (not for another 8 years when dad turns 100), her beloved veteran husband will join her.
