May God give your family an abundance of strength.  The earthly world will miss you, but Heaven needed you more.  The impact he left on many lives is more than obvious.  May you forever rest in Peace Jim.  Sending many prayers to the Nelson family.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I have fond memories of working with Jim in the Department of Sociology, particularly during the years I served as Director of Graduate Studies. Jim's intelligence and wit always made our meetings interesting.

I liked Jim a great deal.  He was friendly, helpful to graduate students, and I just enjoyed chatting with him.  I spent a couple of hours with him while he was at the care unit on Old Orchard (it must have been a few years ago), and we watched some football together.
