Jose G. Cuevas

Loving father of son Alex Cuevas and spouse Lori Cuevas with their son, Nathaniel A. Cuevas. His daughter, Denise Micus with daughter Jordan A. Micus. His daughter, Cristina Cuevas, with her daughter Corinne F. Rodriguez with their spouse Marina A. Silva. His son, Jose Cuevas with spouse Jenny O. Cruz and their daughter Josie A. Cuevas. His son, Juan Cuevas with parter Michelle Hessel.

He is survived by brother Nemecio (Lucila) Cuevas, brother Victor, sister Rafaela, sister Martha, and sister Mary Paz (Jose David) Ibarra Cuevas.

Jose was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico to parents Juan and Maria Cuevas. He came to Chicago in his late teens to achieve the American Dream. He met his spouse, Maria while living next door to each other in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. They wed at St. Vincent DePaul Church and were married for 53 years. Jose’s main goal in life was to provide for his spouse and family. He would be known as a great dancer of cumbias and a classic car enthusiast. He had a love for all types of music, including rock n roll, cumbias, and disco. He was also fond of Chicago sports teams, especially the Chicago Cubs.

He is now reunited with the Lord and holding hands with his wife Maria and daughter Gloria.

Memorial Visitation for Jose will be held Friday, October 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646.
