Linda Rose Smolak was born to Joseph and Marge Smolak on August 3, 1946, and died November 25, 2020. She is survived by her sister, Karen (Al) Johanson and loving nephews Clayton (Ami Patel) and Blake (Naomi Goldstein). She was great aunt to Cole and Priya Johanson.
Linda Rose Smolak was born in an age when people with Downs’ Syndrome were considered expendable. In spite of this, Linda thrived until her death. She was clever, funny and made friends easily. She was always a defender of her little sister. She travelled, loved to cook and got the chance to perform on stage at the Woodstock Opera House. She was a joy to be with.
The Memorial Mass for Linda will be on Saturday, July 24. 2021, at 10:00 am, at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish (Formerly St. Tarcissus Parish), 6020 W. Ardmore Avenue, Chicago, IL 60646, (773) 763-8228. The church is located on the North side of Ardmore Avenue, a block West of Milwaukee Avenue, where Milwaukee Avenue meets Ardmore & Austin. Immediately following the Mass will be a burial service at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, Illinois.
