Mark A. Cocanig

3 May, 1951 – 27 December, 2021
IN THE CARE OF

Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home

Mark A Cocanig, 70, of Oak Lawn, formerly of Chicago, passed away Monday, December 27th.

Mark was a brilliant, kind man with an insatiable curiosity for the scientific, especially when it came to outer space. He could fix anything, explain anything, and he did it well. Mark applied that ingenuity to build a successful business doing work he enjoyed. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed playing with his young grandson. Mark will be missed dearly. Beloved son of the late Geno and Mary Cocanig; Loving father of Christina and the late Angela Cocanig; Cherished stepfather of Dominic (Brianna) Dahdal and Jacob Cocanig, and adored grandfather "Pa" of Dean Dahdal; Dearest brother to Carrie (William) Prybell and the late Bruce Cocanig; Loved Brother-in-law of the late Gerri Getautas, Pamela and the late Frank Getautas, and JoAnn and Jim Triska. Fond uncle to Godson Cody (Justin) Cocanig, Jennifer (Sean) Murphy, Mike (Suzy) Prybell, Colleen and Jimi Triska, the late Devon Getautas, and the late Michael Getautas; great uncle to Billy and Rocco Murphy and Sarah and Elena Prybell. Beloved friend of John Measner and many, many more.

A public celebration of Mark's life is being planned for the spring.
