Michael Kevin Dundon, son of the late Michael Thomas Dundon and the late Sheila Dundon, was a devoted husband to Cheryl Dundon and dearly loved father to Melissa Dundon, Kelsey Dundon, and Meghan Dundon. Michael was a proud Penn Stater (1987) and Northwestern graduate (2002). Michael was an Irish Catholic belonging to The Cathedral of St. Patrick in Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
At the time of his passing he was currently employed at Intercontinental Exchange Holdings company serving as the Head of Global Credit Risk. His prior roles included the Head of Central Counterparty Clearing and Risk Management at Wells Fargo Securities where he built out and integrated a full service FCM into one of the US’s largest banking franchises, Chief Risk Officer of International Derivatives Clearing Group (“IDCG”), and other senior Risk Management positions at The Clearing Corporation, MF Global, Carr Futures, AIB Capital Markets, and Banque Indosuez. His achievements included an outstanding ability to speak and write in both English and French at native proficiency. He was in love with all things French and Irish. He was among a group of fine gentlemen as one of the inventors of the patent for Systems and Methods for Swap Contracts Management With a Discount Curve Feedback Loop which was issued on May 29th, 2012. His intelligence and passion for learning saw him soar to commendable heights as he started as a humble window washer of New York City skyscraper buildings and ended his life in his own executive office with a window, something his family was tremendously proud of him for.
Michael was the man who knew something about a lot, and a lot about something. When he wasn’t spending his time distinguishing himself as a Clearing and Risk professional, his free time was spent on his love of aviation & space, engineering (Computer/Mechanical), photography, history, reading, traveling to French Caribbean islands, or traveling anywhere, collecting fine timepieces, eating fine cuisine, Formula One racing, Australian Shepherd dogs (Bear & Murphy), being a crossword and sudoku puzzle wizard, and watching college football and hockey. Above all he loved nothing more than being a dad to his darling daughters and being with his wife.
