Born in Chicago, 91 years young, died peacefully on February 13, at Rainbow Hospice Facility in Chicago. The diagnosis was recurrent illness from a decade ago.
Millie was born on 11/11/1929 in Chicago in the area of Division & Ashland avenues. She was a proud member of St. Stansilows Koska Church for several decades.
Mildred was the daughter of Stella and Ted Daniels, both originally from Poland. As a child during the depression, she was an ardent worker with a vocational background in credit accounting and also worked in food service. She was very versatile in many tasks.
She married John J Benovsky, a veteran and 30 year Chicago fireman, in the 1950's. Mildred had one child, Terrance and wife, Ellyn, who she always thought of as her daughter. They were devoted to her and her well-being. Mildred is survived by many family, her sister Lorraine Bieliztski, the late Irene Stallings. Others include her nieces and nephews, Robert (Nancy), Beverly (Ken), Sandra, Christine, Lynn, Gary, Donnie. She was also loved by her 4 legged friends, Candy & Makkie.
We were all close to her and aware of her many good deeds, actions and thoughts. She was a member of several clubs and unions. She had many social friends and political contacts.
She enjoyed her international travels and people she met along the way in such places as China & Thailand.
She simply lived as extraordinary life and was a role model for all of us.
She lived a full life and will be greatly missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life memorial service Saturday, February 27 10:00AM-12:30PM at Malec Funeral Home, 6000 Milwaukee Ave, Chicago with Clergy present. All are welcome to celebrate her extraordinary life.
